NEW SPACE

You may have heard that after 5 years in Brooklyn, we are moving to the city. We’re excited to be in a new neighborhood (NoHo), a new space, and arguably most importantly enjoy having access to a smorgasbord of new lunch spots! As much as we love Calexico carne asada burritos (Williamsburg’s staple), I think everyone in our design studio would agree that more options for delivery will be intensely fascinating and exciting to explore! We are finalizing our plans for the interior and looking at inspiring spaces . . .

The teepee may or may not survive the editing process:) Stay tuned for sneek peeks as we settle in and finish the new digs.

Mr. LIM’S SECOND HOME

Via Vogue.com

Philip Lim calls this amazing space his office, second home, and the closest he will ever get to La Dolce Vita. He’s got works of art from the likes of Claude Lalanne and Robert Longo, a beautiful library for inspiration (above), and even a closet in his office behind a trap door.

ACCESSORIZING THE HOME

You may have noticed that we Marais Girls enjoy accessories our homes about as much as we love doing so with our ensembles. Lately, I’ve been hunting for transferware for the kitchen and black + white modern prints for the many empty frames I have lying around. But I am very excited about my latest find which will be on my bedroom door tonight.

A ROOM OF HER OWN

Julia’s room at her parents’ home in Pennsylvania is such a playful mixture of praire antiques, fashion, and modern touches like the blue walls, african accessories, and venetian glass mirror. Her mother apparently owns a home store, which is where she’s collected much of the vintage furniture and baubles. Love the perfectly soft yet bright wall color – reminds me of Linda Rodin’s apartment chalk full of baby blue (and hot pink). Well done Julia!! Looks like the perfect place to come home to.

CHEZ CANDELA PELIZZA TRICARICO

Via Tales of Endearment

So cute! Loving Candela’s home inside a leather factory in Milan that her husband converted into the perfect living space for their family. There wasn’t a photo of the exterior, but she says from the outside the building “resembles a tree, and [my husband and I] are Adam and Eve, living in the tree of sin, eating apples!” Amazing.

ARRANGING WHITE

I firmly believe a white background cures all. It makes all clusters of objects and colors pop. Images via Emma’s Design, 79 ideas, Annaleenashem Hem, Diversion Project

OFFICE CRUSH

Oh jeez… Look at Refinery 29′s new offices!  So much light and so much space.  We’ve got to admit that we’re just a tad bit jealous.
